Tamarind-date-spread is widely used in Indian kitchens and restaurants. The taste of this spread depends largely on the spices available in the area where it is produced.
Serve with samosas and much more, as an appetizer.
Application:
Can be served with our samosas, au naturel or mixed 1:1 with ketchup - especially delicious when the samosas are slightly heated. Can also be mixed with yogurt and served with dahi wada, (a lentil dish) or poppadoms (wafers similar to tortillas). Is even good as a sweet chutney with Indian pani puri (pastry).
Ingredients:
Water, sugar (35%), tamarind (13%), dates (13%), salt, spices, citric acid, preservative (E211).
